Dearest friends,
My heart feels broken, and I have no words to describe the searing pain, confusion, and fear of the last two weeks. Yet, somehow, it has also been two weeks of deeply felt unity and love… unity and love from people all across the world, coming together to support the country and people we love so dearly 🤍
Whenever I’d tell people I was traveling to Israel, they’d ask, “Are you going to bake there?” I’d say no, blaming the country’s different ingredients and ovens. However, with the reeling events of October 7th, and the immense anguish I felt from the massacre, the ongoing hostage crisis, and the loss of dear friends, I knew I had to do something, however small.
This past week, I’ve been baking every morning for our amazingly resilient brothers and sisters affected from the tragedies. Together with some friends, Slope Sweets has traveled across the country, delivering sweets, tactical gear, and letters of support to our incredible Chayalim (soldiers), who are defending us from different bases.
It was beautiful to see the smiles these goodies brought, and the love each soldier felt from these visits 🥰
If you would like to help sponsor an upcoming trip in support of our brave brothers and sisters in the holy land, send me a DM!
May this Shabbat bring comfort to all mourners, and peace to all Jews across the world and Israel.
Shabbat Shalom,
Batsheva 🫶🏼
